It would be nice to see some more animals around the map besides just udder head cows for the same reason and just to stop it feeling quite so empty. It would be nice to see some more of these spread around the game world, just to add some variation to the combat and stop it feeling quite so repetitive.

I only encountered two types in my 5 hours of gameplay but judging from the trailer, there seems to be a couple more. The two types of farmbots I encountered had a nice difficulty gap between them. The world looks colourful and lush and I like the quirky character design. Even after building my first crappy car, I already had a fair idea of how to use it and lots of ideas of what to build next. The engineering system is incredibly nuanced yet still simple enough to get to grips with quickly. Overall, I enjoyed my time in Scrap Mechanic and can see myself spending a lot of time playing it as there are so many different possibilities of what to create. Engineering is at the core of this game with the many tools provided, you can create pretty much anything you can imagine from cars to motorbikes to walking houses and castles. It was first released in Early Access on Steam in January 2016 and, although it has stayed there ever since, the developers are still adding new content, with their latest dev blog update on the 23rd December 2020.
